Detailed itinerary

Day 1

Arrivals at the Airport

Early arrivals will give a chance to bird in Entebbe Botanical Gardens (EBG).

Situated on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, EBG is a beautiful place with colourful butterflies, birds and primates in an area of 40.7ha. Some species you may see include harrier hawk, lizard buzzard, ross’s turaco, hornbills, sunbirds, bee-eaters, robin-chats and more.

Day 2

Mabamba Swamp and Lake Mburo National Park

Bird Mabamba wetland in the morning and continue to Lake Mburo in the afternoon. Mabamba is an IBA and home to several pairs of Shoebills and many wetland specials.

Day 3

Whole day birding in Lake Mburo National Park

Morning bird walk, mid-day boat ride, and afternoon birding in the wooded savannah.

Expect papyrus specialists, water birds, and great wildlife like zebra, topi, eland, giraffe and impala.

Day 4

Travel to Ruhiija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Check out early and continue southwest to Bwindi with birding stops along the way. Early arrivals may bird along the main road in Ruhiija. Your first encounter with Albertine Rift endemics begins here.
